OVERVIEW
Rock fall netting is a passive drapery system designed to minimise rock fall events of debris by controlling the fall to the bottom of the slope. The panels of double twist hexagonal mesh are clipped to a cable running along the course of the embankment, with stainless steel rings. Depending on the existing geology of the face and specified design, additional pinning or active steel cable panels may be required. These safety systems are gaining popularity because they significantly reduce the risk of damage to people and property by capturing and containing mobile rocks and debris.
Typical applications include the protection of roads, buildings, and public areas below natural cliffs, embankments, or man-made cuttings.
